Now, in a terrifying turn of events, thousands of dead bodies of the culled minks have reappeared. After the culling was ordered & carried out, the bodies were collected at a mass burial site in western Denmark.
According to the Guardian, the dead bodies of the minks are coming up to the surface because of the decomposition process that’s causing bloating in the corpses & overflow in the burial sites. Thomas Kristen sen, a national police spokesman was quoted as saying, “As the bodies decay, gases can be formed.
In this way, in the worst cases, the mink get pushed out of the ground.” In order to contain the morbid & ghastly situation, the police are trying to shovel a layer of soil on top of the furry critter corpses. The hasty work done in the burial is honestly straight out of a horror movie about the end of the world & officials are also calling it a public health nightmare.
The most pronounced fear local residents have is that the animal corpses could contaminate the underground water reserved & in turn, the groundwater drinking supply network. After illegally ordering the cull of the country’s 17 million mink to prevent the spread of Covid-19, lawmakers now say they want to exhume their mass graves and incinerate them over concerns that they could contaminate nearby waters, while veterinary officials warn that mink escaping from farms could establish a permanent Covid-19 reservoir in the country’s wild animals that could allow the virus to re-enter humans and precipitate future pandemics.
Getty The Danish government said it wanted to exhume, and likely incinerate, the millions of mink culled to prevent the spread of Covid-19 after hundreds have begun to rise from their mass graves, likely caused by a buildup of gases from decomposition. According to professor Joanne Santino, a microbiologist at University College London, this could make Covid-19 “extremely difficult to control its further spread to animals and then back to humans,” the Guardian reports.
In Europe, France, Ireland, the Netherlands and Denmark have all implemented culls to contain the disease in mink and to stop it spreading back to humans. Denmark’s reaction was particularly drastic, and the prime minister ordered the cull of the country’s entire 17-million-strong mink herd after a mutant strain of Covid-19 was discovered that could possibly undermine efforts to develop a vaccine.
Though much of the country’s mink have been killed and scientists believe the dangerous strain to now be extinct, the agriculture minister resigned after the government admitted it did not have the legal authority to order the cull. Animal rights activists are actually celebrating the mink culls, believing that they signify the end of a cruel and unnecessary industry.
“There was never going to be a happy ending for the 60 million mink exploited for fur annually,” the group said, “but stopping breeding them altogether would be the best way to prevent animals suffering in the future for the fickle whims of fashion.” “As the bodies decay, gases can be formed,” Denmark national police spokesperson Thomas Kristen sen told DR, the state broadcaster, this week.
Public broadcaster DR showed a chilling video of hordes of unearthed animal carcasses lying jam-packed inside the mass burial site at the Holster military training ground in the country's northwest. “Gases are formed during decomposition, which causes the bodies to swell a little and, in worst cases, they get pushed out of the ground,” police spokesperson Thomas Kristen sen explained.
The government ordered the mass slaughter of mink on farms after a mutated version of the coronavirus was discovered in some animals. Prime Minister Bette Frederickson later admitted that the government had no legal authority to issue such an order and apologized.
17 million Danish mink were culled after outbreak of mutant form of coronavirus They were coated in lime to help reduce smell of decay and buried in shallow pits But some bodies have begun rising through the ground as they fill with gas Four a million minks will now be dug up and burned in waste incinerators WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT Millions of mink will be dug up from mass graves and burned in waste incinerators in Denmark after some resurfaced, prompting complaints from residents about possible health and environmental risks, the country's government said.
Denmark's entire herd of some 17 million mink destined for the high-end fashion industry was ordered to be culled in early November after hundreds of farms suffered outbreaks of coronavirus and authorities found mutated strains of the virus among people. Amid fears that the slightly-altered disease would render vaccines developed to fight the original virus useless, Denmark ordered all of its mink destroyed.
Mink that were killed and buried in huge pits during a coronavirus cull in Denmark have begun rising from the grave after gases released during decomposition caused their bodies to swell Thomas Kristen sen, of the National Police, told broadcaster DR that sandy soil in West Jutland is partly responsible because it is not heavy enough to hold the mink bodies down.
Police say there is no risk to the public from the zombie mink' unless they come into contact with the bodies, and burial pits are being guarded to ensure that does not happen The cull has prompted protests by Danish mink farmers along with legal challenges, as some say politicians had no authority to order the slaughter.
Danish broadcaster DR also reported Monday that a majority of the parties in parliament had agreed to appoint a commission that would evaluate the government handling of the mink crisis. The country is joined by France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Finland, Denmark, Israel and El Salvador in banning all flights carrying passengers from the UK.
The macabre phenomenon was observed in a military training field outside the western town of Holster, where thousands of mink had been put into an improvised mass grave. Adding to the frustration, the animals were buried too close to a lake, raising fears of phosphorus and nitrogen pollution, though officials have promised to fix the situation.
The decision led to 17 million animals being destroyed and to the resignation last week of Food and Agriculture Minister Morgans Jensen, after it was determined that the order was illegal. The macabre burial sites, guarded 24 hours a day to keep people and animals away, have drawn complaints from area residents about possible health risks.
It’s a relationship that manifested itself very early in the pandemic, as far back as January, when anti-vaxxers had started blaming the flu vaccine for susceptibility to what was then called the novel coronavirus based on a conspiracy theory. Soon, anti-vaxxers were claiming that COVID-19 was actually due to a failed vaccine against SARS, the coronavirus that threatened the world in 2002-2003 but ultimately did not cause nearly as much suffering and death as COVID-19 has so far.
(This was back in January, too, before COVID-19 had even really become apparent in the US and was primarily ravaging Wuhan, China and other places in Asia.) I’m referring to Dr. Lawrence Palsy, an antivaccine pediatrician who had become prominent in the antivaccine movement years ago and has now shown up in a video called COVID-19 Exposed, with a New Age webmaster named Jason Shark.
When last we encountered Larry Palsy, it was February, again before the pandemic had really started to hit the US hard. He was testifying before the Connecticut legislature, which was at the time considering passing legislation to remove the religious exemption to school vaccine mandates.
As I discussed at the time, his testimony was an endless font of antivaccine misinformation and disinformation, basically an anti-vax the greatest hits. Last year, when measles outbreaks were popping up all over the US, thanks to fear of the MMR vaccine stoked by anti-vaxxers, Palsy was a frequent featured speaker at antivaccine rallies, “informational” events, and protests, such as ones held in Harlem and Money, NY, where he helped stoke antivaccine sentiments among the Orthodox Jews of Brooklyn and New Jersey.
Unsurprisingly, the video starts out with a montage of news reports about COVID-19 and included this: The interviewer Jason Shark (who, quite frankly, I don’t recall ever having encountered before) then introduces Larry Palsy as someone who’s going to share “his truth.” I always chuckle when I hear the word “truth” preceded by a possessive adjective like “his” or “her” or “their.” What this tells me immediately is that what we’re going to hear is opinion, often flagrantly wrong opinion, gussied up as “his truth.” It’s also claimed that Palsy will be “revealing the scientifically backed TRUTH” about COVID-19.
Imagine being able to heal your own internal blockages with the use of your mind, instead of the use of sedative drugs. Imagine living in a world without time and space, without walls, without borders, without wars, without disease, without vaccines, without toxins, without drugs, and without doctors.
Whenever you see someone refer to the “vibrations around us” and “energy” in the context of “healing your own internal blockages with the use of your mind,” you know you’re into serious, grade-A woo with echoes of The Secret. In addition, Shark appears to be seriously antivaccine, too, given the passage above and how he brags that Palsy was his doctor ever since he was a little kid.
Of course, as I’ve mentioned before, Palsy is an “integrative medicine doctor,” and his practice offers holistic pediatric services that include a whole heaping’ helping’ of quackery, including cleanses, homeopathy, acupuncture, chiropractic, and more. The early part of the interview features Dr. Palsy pontificating about his background in which he at first implied that he’s spent most of his career working in hospitals, emergency rooms, neonatal ICUs, and other critical care situations.
Palsy seems to humor him by pontificating about how, unlike bacteria, viruses are not truly “alive” (although calling them “dead” seems to me to be a stretch given that calling something “dead” implies that it was at one time alive) and how viruses cannot replicate without hijacking the genetic machinery of a living organism. (I bet you can see where this is going) and having something “turn it on.” So, in Palsy’s view, a virus by itself is inert, which is true, but rather beside the point in the context of a pandemic.
This lets Palsy pivot to saying how we have viruses in us now that are being “turned on and off” by our thoughts, foods, the weather, changes in the season, by emotions, by stressors, and, of course, by chemicals and toxins. To him, viruses, including SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19, are harmless in and of themselves and need “something” to “turn them on.” This is, of course, only sort of true.
Many are the viruses that are perfectly capable of infecting you and causing disease regardless of how healthy you are, the foods you eat, and your thoughts and emotions. He then pivots to the deceptive claim that the human body was born with a half a million viruses embedded in our genetic code.
So we in our society, in our culture, actually walk around believing that viruses aren’t in our body until somebody who is sick gives them to us, and that’s actually incorrect. So you have more than half a million viruses coded within our genetics, and you have over 100 trillion bacteria that are lining us.
Seriously, how did this man get through medical school and residency and not understand this basic point about pathogenic microorganisms. Annoyingly, he dismisses asymptomatic spread of COVID-19 by saying that we’ve “always” been able to pass organisms between us without symptoms.
Again, this is (sort of) true, but irrelevant to COVID-19, nor does it imply that we shouldn’t wear masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Physicians and scientists are well aware of the benign organisms that live on and in us and (usually) don’t cause disease, one exception being when we become immunosuppressed or when antibiotics kill off the beneficial and protective bacteria, thus letting the harmful bacteria normally kept in check by them to replicate.
He’s pushing that message as the dominant narrative in order to weave a conspiracy theory that doctors are hiding the “truth” about viruses and bacteria from you. When Palsy next opined that we have to “change our thinking” to realize that “exposures to organisms do not make us sick,” I almost lost it.
He then uses the discredited idea that women living together will sync their menstrual periods to argue that “simultaneous” manifestation of symptoms doesn’t necessarily imply contagiousness in COVID-19. There were other doctors all around the world who spoke out about it and said, “Wait a second, this doesn’t present like a real viral illness.
So it raised a big question mark for a lot of people: Why would scientific information be censored? Somehow we’ve allowed ourselves to swallow this information that a respiratory virus is now working to give us a blood disorder and clotting factors that are making people sick, when no one has really explained the mechanism by which that happens.
These are controversies that, over the months, have been slowly resolving themselves in the scientific literature, but Dr. Palsy acts as though they are still a thing. That argument from incredulity about how a respiratory virus couldn’t possibly cause a clotting disorder is medical stupidity of the highest order, too.
What is a medical doctor or a scientist or a lay person supposed when he or she finds out that Anthony Fauci is quoted in January 2017 at a Georgetown University dinner saying there will be a surprise outbreak during the Trump administration. When we’ve talked about the use of two anti-parasite drugs effectively helping as a treatment for people who got sick early on, and they got better really quickly.
I’ve now documented more times than I can recall how antivaccine drifters like Dr. Palsy have taken so quickly to COVID-19 conspiracy theories and gift. Oral is the not DE blog of a humble surgeon/scientist who has an ego just big enough to delude himself that someone, somewhere might actually give a rodent's posterior about his copious verbal meanderings, but just barely small enough to admit to himself that few probably will.
That this particular surgeon has chosen his not DE blog based on a rather cranky and arrogant computer shaped like a clear box of blinking lights that he originally encountered when he became a fan of a 35-year-old British SF television show whose special effects were renowned for their BBC/Doctor Who-style low budget look, but whose stories nonetheless resulted in some of the best, most innovative science fiction ever televised, should tell you nearly all that you need to know about Oral. They should never be construed as representing the opinions of any other person or entity, especially Oral's cancer center, department of surgery, medical school, or university.
Also note that Oral is nonpartisan; he is more than willing to criticize the statements of anyone, regardless of political leanings, if that anyone advocates pseudoscience or quackery.
