The BEST Controller Fortnite Sensitivity + Settings + Binds + Dead Zone! In Chapter 2, Fortnite introduced advanced controller settings that left many players confused.

In this post, I want to share with you what I’ve learned to help you optimize your controller settings, sensitivity, and binds. You see, there are a bunch of hidden settings that you won’t find in the controller options section.

Controller Auto-Run : On Build Immediately (Builder Pro) : On Edit Hold Time : 0.100 Seconds Vibration : Off Now that you have all your controller settings configured, let’s move on to your sensitivity.

Selecting a number within the suggested range is going to work well for the vast majority of controller players. You want to use the highest number that you can comfortably use while still having good control when building.

Set it lower for less speed and more control and higher to move faster. 50% is a good starting point and I don’t recommend going lower than 40% or higher than 60%.

But if you decide to use higher look speeds, then make sure you adjust your build and edit mode sensitivity multipliers to compensate. Next, we’ll be setting up your aim down sights (ADS) sensitivity.

But every top controller player sets this at 0% to disable the vertical boost and so should you. All the best controller players use linear as your raw input is more consistent.

You can set it to 0% to disable aim assist, but I don’t recommend it. The dead zone is the area surrounding your stick that Fortnite ignores input from.

When I first started playing Fortnite on a PS4 with a controller, the default options were terrible. Look, using custom binds lets you configure every button for combat, building, and editing.

If you want to take your controller gameplay to the next level you should set up your own custom binds. Please use these controller binds as a template and I encourage you to make tweaks to further optimize them to your needs.

L2 : Aim Down Sites L1 : Previous Weapon R2 : Attack/Confirm R1 : Next Weapon D-Pad Up : Inventory D-Pad Left : Place Marker D-Pad Right : Squad Comms D-Pad Down : Emote/Replay Triangle : Edit Square : Reload/Interact Circle : Switch Mode Cross : Jump L3 : Toggle Pickaxe R3 : Crouch/Repair Touch Pad : Map Options Button : Game Menu You now have your controller sensitivity, settings, and binds configured like a Fortnite pro player.

I hope that you have learned something new from this post, and it has helped you optimize your controller settings and given you the tools you need to take your gameplay to the next level. Re: Fortnite Added Dead zone Adjustment.

If y'all like .10 dead zone up your sensitivity but leave default dead zone lol Dead zone doesn’t affect sensitivity. It is there to avoid very minor unintended movements causing your aim to move, and also to counter stick drift.

Also looking forward especially since the new season of the game releases tomorrow. Re: Fortnite Added Dead zone Adjustment.

It’s a pretty basic concept but can be awkward to explain. Sooo it doesn't matter how far the dead zone is considering we have none.

Sooo it doesn't matter how far the dead zone is considering we have none. You can do that with controller but for us it's just a left mouse click.

If they were to increase the sensitivity they would get the same results but more accurate because its on the correct st. It is important to have the dead zone at the correct setting.

If the dead zone is different from what the ST was trained at then it can result in poor aim mechanics (especially micro movements). If the setting is too far off then you may find you have to move the mouse too much before it registers, or you may be unable to do very fine movements since it will start moving at a faster speed. At this stage there is still a chance that the dead zone default setting post patch is different from what it used to be behind the scenes before the patch.

Re: Fortnite Added Dead zone Adjustment. Agreed with mongoose “Increase your sensitivity to counteract the different dead zone ”.

If epic decided to make users figure out the bestdeadzone then all the defaults would have been the same. And there would be a lot of upset people because you would instantly notice a difference when they logged on. Needless to say don't mess with something that's not broken.

And as already stated if he was to create a new st for a new dead zone value you would get the same outcome you get now. If a lower dead zone seems more “responsive” as I said before if you up'd your sensitivity or activated “turn assist” you would get the same outcome.
