My roommate and I moved into an apartment for the semester and they, while not bad enough to be considered anorexic, still have a hard time with underrating. Last week they said they weren't hungry, so I thought of that as an opportunity to be creative in the kitchen, so I wouldn't be worried about things they are picky about, and I knew I could make something for them if they changed their mind.
I went to a local again market and grabbed some quick items to make some lo man because it's easy and really tasty. I get back, and they still say they aren't hungry, so I start making the lo man.
Near the end of cooking they come in remarking about how it smells wonderful. I offer to serve them a portion, but they maintain that they weren't hungry.
I still serve a small portion for them, and they agree to taste it. They ended up going for seconds without hesitation and were amazed that I got them to eat veggies.
I told my parents, uncles, and grandparents the truth. I bought a new book, and it has just arrived, but I still haven't had the chance to read it because of them.
I spent the day cleaning up after them because one of my two uncles insisted on making breakfast. After we were done with the dishes, I turned on my computer and booked a room for three days.
For those who have asked for an update: I went to my room, it does have a bathtub (shout-out to the guy that told me to call the hotel and see if I could get one, I didn't even get charged for it). I wanted to swim, but it was really cold, so I lifted some weights and then just jumped in the pool.
When I first saw you a month ago, I was surprised to see you in the August heat. At the risk of sounding insensitive, it was most surprising to see a runner who was overweight.
I myself am an NCAA cross-country athlete, and it's always fun to see other runners out there. You can run a mile or a marathon and feel proud of your work.
To those wondering if I can talk to him at some point, I'll definitely give him a wave and some encouragement and if he passes somewhere I can park someday, he'll get some good words and some water. To the few who think it's weird or wrong of me to notice someone working at their goals, I'm sorry you think that.
You make a valid point about it maybe being creepy to randomly say hey to the guy; fortunately, we live in an area where that kind of thing is more normal (small town, friendly people). I had that cat for roughly 20 years, so I can't complain.
Edit: I just want to thank you guys for the kind words. This isn't my first time with loss, I've lost a few pets over the years and a lot of family too.
I'd imagine a lot of you are like me and don't talk about things like this in real life. I hope all of you know that losing someone or something doesn't negate all the years of love and good times.
But she then she called my father (he lives with me) and told him, to tell me, that I need to go home. Edit: okay I didn’t expect this to get so much attention, but you all need to calm down.
That being said there are a ton of rappers and a lot of words and lines that get thrown around, and I have a complete appreciation for good lyricism, and try to listen to everything being said depending on the artists track record for lyrics. In my experience talking to people about rap, it seems a lot of lyrics fall on deaf ears, but it also seems each person does listen to at least one rapper in which they take in the lyrics that are rapped out.
