It's fair to say that the last decade of the X-Men franchise was not necessarily the strongest, though fans did see some great storylines come from Marvel's merry mutants in the 2010s. Thankfully the “Dawn of X” relaunch by Jonathan Hickman has elevated the X-Men back to the forefront of Marvel's line, and fans are once again talking about the team's exciting future.

The team suffered quite a few heavy casualties while other characters switched loyalties, all of which continued to shock fans as they prepared for what came next by saying goodbye to what came before. One of the biggest changes to the X-Men in the last decade came when Hank McCoy/ Beast decided to mess with the time stream and bring the original five X-Men from the past to the present day, hoping to show them how they turn out to avoid the troubled future.

Things obviously backfired and during the Battle of the Atom crossover, the X-Men encountered future versions of the X-Men and the Brotherhood who offered a glimpse at the possible timeline Beast had created. Jean set about forming a new team in X-Men : Red and attempted to create a new haven for mutant-kind, though she was framed and discredited early on by Cassandra Nova.

X-Men : Schism featured the inevitable breaking point between Scott and Logan after a series of attacks led to a final disagreement between the two leaders. Battle lines were drawn and loyalties were tested as the two teams argued over how best to deal with Hope Summers and the return of the Phoenix Force.

Avengers vs. X-Men saw a few iconic moments including the birth of the Phoenix Five, the flooding of Wakanda, and one of the worst deaths the mutant community has ever seen. While “The Apocalypse Solution” was technically an Uncanny X-Force, we're still including it for a number of reasons, the least of which is that the team was made up of active X-Men like Wolverine, Locke, and Archangel while they operated in secret along with mercy like Deadpool and Fandom.

“The Apocalypse Solution” is really only the start to one of the best stories, as Rick Reminder's entire Uncanny X-Force run is not one to miss, and would go on to affect a number of related titles throughout the decade. Jonathan Hickman recently took the reins of the X-franchise with his dual series event House of X / Powers of X, which relaunched the X-Men in a dynamic new direction.

The series and resultant “Dawn of X” titles have set about redefining the X-Men's place in the Marvel Universe while uniting the mutant community like never before to create new exciting story opportunities. I think what I like about the stories, is it put the X-Men on a journey, everything was about protecting Hope, keeping her alive. The artwork in the story arcs were also pretty good.

There was good rivalry between Jean and Emma Frost in this issue. The only think I didn't like about this issue, is we see everything from Emma Frost prospective.

We saw her crying in Wolverine arms and Beast shows up wants to give her flowers and chocolates. I guess that Grant Morrison for you, he cares more about Emma Frost.

We see the return of Domino and what entrance she makes, pointing a gun in Archangel mouth. We see Warpath team up with Ghost Rider and take on the Demon Bear.

This is story arc, where Rogue gets revenge on Vargas. It's the story arc where Jean Grey reminds the X-Men that there family and the X-Men should reunite.

It's Also story arc where Rogue and Gambit discovers they lost there powers and decide to leave the X-Men together. This story arc centers around the origins of Jean Grey, how she meets Charles Xavier and how she looses her friend Annie.

This is a wonderful story and the artwork from Mike Mayhew is beautiful. Jean Grey returns, Beast travels to pass to bring the original 5 to the present, hoping to change the future.

Gambit attacks the X-Men and blows of Wolverine face and kidnaps Rogue. Wolverine, Colossus & Kurt return to Russia and Emma and Scott are dress in the 1960's clothes.

The best story from Uncanny X-Force, Archangel turns evil and the X-Force travel to Age of Apocalypse to find a cure. I loved this story cause, I like the reunion between Logan and Jean Grey.

Vulcan is hell-bent on getting revenge against Shi'AR Empire. While Charles Xavier wants to stop him, putting his life at risk.

That team is Warpath, Nightcrawler, Rachel Grey, Havoc, Porgies and Darwin. If your not sure what stories were release, you can check out 2 listed I made.

It was easier to limit myself to stories that happened between 2000 and 2010, and for me there's really only 3 writers that stand out much in that time. I think it from Real steel or Animal attraction.

The reasons are, I didn't see the point of reuniting Kitty and Colossus and then separating them, I was disappointed with Joss When for doing that. The reasons are, I didn't see the point of reuniting Kitty and Colossus and then separating them, I was disappointed with Joss When for doing that.

I mean, I'm a huge Kitty Pride fan, so while I was disappointed that she seemed to die at the end, I was actually happy that she'd had such a good last story. By the time this series started, Kitty really hadn't been relevant for years; When brought her back and made her the main character again, and ended it by making it one of the best, most definitive Kitty stories of them all.

There was actual character progression that seemed to effect the whole team. Either way, the dramatic, heroic sacrifice was the climax of a great story that wouldn't have been as meaningful or as epic without it, so it's hard for me to imagine not liking the story for one of it's greatest moments.

Can I say just AVX Consequences.... I was thinking about my favorite story and now I'm pretty sure AVX Consequences may be THE defining moment for the current rebel Cyclops. ...and since I'm of the belief that the current Uncanny book is one extremely drawn out story arc then that would be my combined number one.

Unstoppable, Messiah Complex, 2nd coming and Fall of the New Mutants round up my 5. Supernovas (X-Men) E is for Extinction (New X-Men) Prisoner of Fire (Extreme X-Men) Messiah Complex Age of X The Longest Night (X-Factor vol.

Let's say switch Divided with something like the dark angel saga, and I'm good ^^. The reasons are, I didn't see the point of reuniting Kitty and Colossus and then separating them, I was disappointed with Joss When for doing that.

When wrote a great story about Kitty. She had quite some development during the run and because of this, Kitty's 'death' was one of the most meaningful 'deaths' in comics to me.

All this is made stronger in the last pages of giant size when Colossus remembers some words Kitty said to him a few issues earlier. Can I say just AVX Consequences.... I normally like to pick parts of a run that I enjoy. It's so hard to isolate a specific story arc with all the build-up etc.

I have specifically enjoyed Dark Angel Saga, House of M, Supernovas, New X-Men : Childhood's End, AVX:Consequences, though. Selina_sublime said: Supernovas (X-Men) E is for Extinction (New X-Men) Prisoner of Fire (Extreme X-Men) Messiah Complex Age of X The Longest Night (X-Factor vol.
