Anybody who has played Buried will know all too well how scary and creepy this map is, with the haunted house being a terrifying experience that is not really recommended for people who get scared easily. This map came under some criticism for being a little gimmicky when it was first released, with the game allowing you to play as famous world leaders; John F. Kennedy, Fidel Castro, and Richard Nixon.
Some gamers were unable to look past that fact early on, but, once you got to play the Five map, it was a lot of fun, with tight spaces and very few places to hide keeping you on the edge of your toes throughout. Five also brought a new form of enemy with the Pentagon Thai, who took things to a new level with his attempts to steal your weapons, causing problems for people throughout.
It felt like one big game of Clue by taking place in a huge mansion, and COD did a great job of bringing more than just Zombies into things, with vampires and werewolves helping to make this even scarier than normal. Charles Dance, Kaiser Sutherland, Brian Blessed, and Helena Botham Carter were all featured here, and they added a lot of fun.
Inspired by the 1940s New Orleans Jazz scene, the fictional More City was a perfect environment and switched things up for Zombies, going from the traditional bleak colors to something a little more vibrant, which was met with positive and negative feedback. This is the final map in the series, and, because of that, everything is ramped up to make this very difficult, although it does bring the story arch together satisfyingly that left everyone happy.
Her Eisendrache may just take the number one prize in terms of visuals, with this map being absolutely stunning to play through with incredible detail-packed to both interact with and in the background. The elemental staves added something fresh to the combat, with giant robots walking around the landscape, giving something else to the gamer to think about, with a look to the sky being needed to avoid being crushed.
This map was full of story reveals that brought things to an end in a perfect way, mixing emotion and impactful moments with fantastic gameplay and graphics. If you want a really fun Zombies experience, then Mob of the Dead is probably the perfect choice for you, with a fantastic atmosphere with a gangster feel that also didn't take itself overly seriously.
This map did have elements of dark humor which were welcomed, while also having an incredible story that had a real thriller feel with a brilliant payoff that was well worth dedicating some time for. Taking place on Alcatraz, the location chosen was superb and fit the zombies franchise well, with a hidden Johnny Cash song and the return of the introduction of the Tommy Gun, this map had it all.
This was the starting point for Zombies, with this being a surprise mini-game that people weren't aware of until they unlocked it, which took place after players completed the World at War's main solo campaign. Once you had made your way through the game you actually bought, you were given a huge bonus of the Yacht Her Unto ten map, which provided an incredible experience that nobody had prepared for.
While it still has the dark theme that would be expected from the game, it also has some amazingly vibrant neon lights that give the map a pop of color. The whole map takes place in a zombie infected amusement park with rides blaring around and a hilarious MC who keeps things entertaining throughout.
Since Her Raise originally debuted within World at War, Trey arch has remastered the map on two more occasions, proving it is a major hit for the franchise, and that is why it ranks so highly on this list. The brilliance of this map was that it had a genuinely eerie and strange feel to it, with the theater being the main hub, with deserted and ripped apart chairs, cobwebs everywhere, and a dark moody atmosphere.
Black Ops III’s Zombies Chronicles DLC has just released on the PS4 and players will be able to revisit a handful of classic Zombies maps from past titles. With so many iconic locales, though, players may be wondering exactly which remastered maps are included in Zombies Chronicles.
Those who pick up Black Ops III’s Zombies Chronicles expansion will also get 20 vials of Liquid Divinity, two new Bubblegum, and a Zombies Pack-a-Punch weapon camo. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is upon us, and with that the next generation of Zombies as well.
Shangri-La is generally considered the weakest map of Black Ops 1's incredible catalog. It's a visually stunning map (as seen in the Zombies Chronicles version), and being boosted by next-gen graphics would make it gorgeous.
Visuals aside, Shangri-La is a map that would benefit from some new areas being added and fixing some frustrating things like the mud maze and its randomness. The monkeys can also be adjusted to be a little less annoying, as losing a drop from not being able to get to it in time can be frustrating.
Being able to explore the center courtyard for the first time would be amazing, especially since it's one of the most iconic unreachable areas of Zombies. From what we've seen of Die Machine, Zombies is returning to its scary roots, so Verruca is the perfect match to fit that theme.
While Black Ops 4 is the Zombies game with probably the most problems, IX is a shining gem from it. The atmosphere is incredible, however, it's not one that would fit into the tone of Cold War Zombies.
IX is also too new of a map, and needs time to settle before remake talks should even be considered. There's plenty of areas on Shi No NUMA that can be opened up, enabling tons of new additions that could be added.
With the swamp aesthetic, searching for new items could prove to be incredibly fun. Shi No NUMA is filled with untapped potential that could very easily be obtained with the right changes and additions.
Die Rise is generally one of the most hated maps in Zombies, and one that would greatly benefit from a remaster. In addition, adding more to the rooftops' area would be fantastic as well, as that's the best part in Die Rise.
And hey, having an actual PhD Flopped perk machine on the map can finally happen. Adding more to it would hurt the simplistic charm that Her Raise has to offer.
Besides, other maps deserve to have a chance to shine, rather than a one that's been in more than half of the Zombies games. Changes to the Jet Gun would be appreciated since it's incredibly frustrating that it can break.
Her Eisendrache was the first Black Ops 3 DLC map, and one of, if not the greatest Zombies map ever released. Coming off the complex Shadows of Evil, Her Eisendrache was a deceptively easy map, with some of the most fun Wonder Weapons in the bows.
Remastering Her Eisendrache would bring nothing to the table, and would ultimately hurt the legacy it left behind for Black Ops 3. Having worked many odd jobs, including article writing, he is now a list writer for TheGamer.com.
King Her Token, the map that taught me all about creating a 'zombie train'From the simplicity of Yacht Her Unto ten, which sees you with few doors to open as you defend against the undead in the very first zombies map, to what I consider the pinnacle of COD Zombies, with the epic battle on the trenches as you avoid giant robots in Origins. And I know, local co-op might which might sound a strange proposition depending on where you are in the world right now and what quarantining measures you might be under, but if you've managed to nab yourself a PS5 this Christmas, you're going to want to show that off.
These maps are filled to the brim with new Easter Eggs, secret radios featuring Dr. Monty and Dr. Maxis, Gobble Gum Machines, and the Wunderkind as well! Some people find that the older maps from Call of Duty: World at War's Nazi Zombies are too different and the new Mega Gobble Gums make players way too over-powered, but many fans have been champing at the bit waiting for additional perks like Juggling and Double Tap Root Beer, especially for the first map, Yacht Her Unto ten (which only has Mystery Box and Mule Kick).
This Mystery Man Easter Egg was the start of a new phenomenon of multi-step challenges Call of Duty: Zombies fans still cannot get enough of! “ Ascension makes the list of Top 3 Zombies Chronicles remakes due to the fact that the Mystery Man Easter egg finally offers players a reward for completing the challenge.
PhD Flopped has been replaced with the new perk, Widow's Wine, which is a downer according to fans, but the beautiful job remaking the map makes up for it. Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies map Moon was the first time Trey arch released a fifth D.L.C.
Pack for the Call of Duty series and owners of the Season Pass for Black Ops also received that map for free! Like Ascension “, the zombies in Moon are gory and horrifying, as if the vacuum of space had sucked the flesh clean off the skull, leaving only blood and muscle remaining.
This was long before our favorite Origins characters came around (Nicholas, Dempsey, Richthofen and Take) and was rather simple, featuring only the Mystery Box and a few wall-buys for weapon choices. One of the best features in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s Zombies mode is that it has its own separate XP progression system involved, which has having different levels from the regular multiplayer.
This makes the Zombies' mode actually feel like its own thing even more than in the past, with progression working to get you to new areas over time. These can be found in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 menu when looking more in depth, but we thought we’d put them all together for you here to make it a little easier to keep up with as well.
The Conversation is asking kids to send in questions they’d like an expert to answer. Hundreds of years ago, slaves from Africa were taken to Haiti and forced to work very hard on farms.
They were not treated well, they didn’t get paid, and they weren’t allowed to go home. In the folktale, they said that a voodoo god took them from their graves and transported them back to Africa.
Voodoo (sometimes spelled odor) is a religion in some parts of the world, including in Haiti. If people upset Baron Named when they were alive, they risked being turned into zombies.
Baron Named seems to be pretty scary and wears a top hat, a big black coat and sometimes has a skull for a face. Baron Named is said to wear a top hat, just like this little Lego ‘zombie’.
Flickr/Clement127, CC BY In other folktales from Haiti, zombies are believed to be created by sorcerers. Once drunk, this poison is said to be able to make the person look and act like they were dead.
A bit over 100 years ago, these Haitian tales began to reach the United States. Tales of zombies were told to people, and they were also printed in collections of stories about Haiti.
There were also reports of zombies living in Haiti, and it was not long until American scholars and reporters began visiting Haiti in search of real zombies. These folktales and reports about zombies have been turned into comics and horror stories.
On TV shows today, there are lots of different reasons why zombies are created. Sometimes, storytellers explain that people are turned into zombies through breathing in dangerous chemicals or through catching mysterious diseases.
But remember, in such modern-day folktales, designed to frighten us, there is also a hero or heroine there to save the day.
