A couple of weeks ago I came home to find that one of the cats had brought in a mole, and it was running all over my living room, with that blind and funny walk they have. It was undamaged, though the cats were all playing with it, and I managed to catch it and release it outside.

This is because moles are more dangerous to their habitat than they are directly to other animal and human beings. They will drag with them edibles from the house like cakes, soaps, toothpastes and scrubbers.

This five to nine inch rodent does not bite but when interfered with, it will fight to protect itself. The further interference with the tunnels leads to more destruction of your lawn and will make it look ugly.

Your pets will pick the bad behavior of digging out soils from the lawn and flower garden from the moles. It is advisable to train the pets that the mole activity on the lawn is not right, so they do not go on doing it.

These rodents will use the mole tunnels and this will lead to a lawn manifested by all sorts of rodents, the set in of one mole means the other rodents will come into the lawn and use the mole holes as a home and the new animals will keep searching for food on your lawn and garden. Cats can be born with moles and other skin oddities, or they can develop them over time.

Skin tags can be flesh colored or black and appear most frequently in areas of friction, according to the University of Utah Health. However, tags that appear around the eye can cause a reduction in the visual field.

Unless a skin tag is bothering your cat, there's no cause for an immediate veterinary visit. Simply make note of the tag on your cat's home medical record, so you remember to mention it at your next vet visit.

Although medical sites such as the University of Utah Health advises that people can snip off their own skin tags with a sharp cuticle scissors or tie a thread tightly around it to make it fall off, it's not a good idea with cats. Even if you're successful, you could end up creating a bigger problem for your cat with the potential for infection or excess bleeding according to the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority.

Your veterinarian will perform diagnostic tests on your cat's suspicious growths to determine whether they are benign or malignant. Removing a tag or mole is usually not worth the risk of surgery and anesthesia for your cat according to Mercia Healthy Pets.

If the mole or skin tag is malignant, your veterinarian will help you choose an effective form of treatment. The type of growth, location, and size will play a role in how your veterinarian decides to deal with it.

In cases where the cancer may have spread or cannot be completely removed, chemotherapy or radiation treatments may be used according to Merck Veterinary Manual. Baits for moles and gophers often contain a pesticide called zinc phosphide mixed with other ingredients that smell tasty to the target pest.

Whether a gopher or another mammal (your dog, for example) eats the poison, the chemical acts the same inside the body. Stomach acid combines with zinc phosphide, releasing phosphine gas.

This gas is highly toxic to rodents and moles, as well as dogs, cats, livestock, and people. However, dogs and cats that eat the bait can, and often do, vomit to remove the pesticide from their bodies.

When possible, keep your pets away from the treated area by using barriers or leashes until the pest problem is under control. If you suspect your child has handled or eaten any bait, call the Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222 right away.

For pets exposed to any bait, contact your veterinarian or an animal emergency resource. You're enjoying a bonding moment with your kitty, and as you're petting them, you notice a lump on their skin.

An abscess is a pus-filled, swollen spot on the skin that sometimes forms where your cat has been bitten or scratched. To treat the abscess, your vet may give your cat an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory medication.

Fatty tumors, called lipomas, may show up anywhere on a cat's body. To check a lump for cancer, your vet will use a needle to get a sample.

Mast cell tumor scan also appear on the cat's skin, usually on the head or neck. If your cat has a lump at the site of a recent shot, let your vet know.

They appear on the underside of the cat, near their nipples, and often go unnoticed until they're large. About 85% of these tumors are cancerous, so don't delay taking your cat to the vet to be examined if you notice something unusual.

If you spay your cat before they go into heat for the first time, you'll cut their breast cancer risk by about 90%. If your cat has any type of cancer, they will most likely need surgery to remove the tumor and the surrounding tissue.

Your vet may refer you to a veterinary oncologist, who treats animals with cancer. For breast cancer, removing the whole mammary gland may be the best treatment.

In some cases, the doctor may recommend radiation or chemo after surgery. Plastic bowls for drinking and eating may also lead to cat acne.

If your kitty stays inside, you may not think of this, but indoor cats can get ticks. The parasites can hitch a ride inside from dogs or humans who spend time outdoors.

If a tick stays on your cat's skin long enough to embed itself, it can look and feel like a lump. Mosquitoes, bees, wasps, spiders, and ants can cause bumps on cats, too.

The ears and nose may have worse reactions than other body parts. If your pet was stung, a vet may need to make sure the stinger is removed.

Some cats are sensitive to flea bites, but they're more likely to get a rash or sore than a raised bump. To avoid mosquito bites, keep your cat indoors at dusk and dawn during summer months.

If I'm correct it drains out the side of my house (going through 2 closets in the room next to it). I want to repaint to cover water stains and refresh color.

We had a new 3500 sq foot concrete driveway poured starting 10 days ago. The first section poured has dark black spots that look like oil stains.

She has never slept outside overnight but today I saw i her run by the door and I went outside to see if she wanted to come in. In her mouth was a vole (mouse like rodent) and then she put it in between her paws and I went inside to tell my family that my cat killed something.

When she went back out, all that was left in front of my cat was some intestines. She (my cat) is always going into the woods and bringing back moles, baby mice, birds, butterflies, dragonflies, etc.

No, your cat will not get sick from it as long, and she gets her rabies shots and other vaccinations. Cats have natural enzymes that kill bacteria in their mouths, (think about when she licks her butt and then your hand, and you don't get sick, lol).

I just want to point out that IF you are going to answer a question, at least READ it correctly first. There is some evidence to support that the intestines and liver hold toxins that can be harmful to your cat when eaten.

HOWEVER, as Voles are a tremendously destructive force in the garden, please remember that people set out poisons for them, not considering that this sick animal may actually wander onto someone else's property. Worms and some diseases are easily avoidable by stopping this part of the hunt/kill process.
